The mezchelada bridges beer and agave in one glass.
Mezcal amplifies the worm salt’s earthy notes and makes the lime feel brighter.
A powerful, balanced drink that honors the gusano ritual.
Yield: 1 cocktail | Time: 8 minutes
Ingredients
- 12 oz light lager or pilsner
- 1.5 oz mezcal joven
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- Splash of agave nectar (optional)
- Worm salt (for rim)
- Ice
Method
- Rim a glass with worm salt.
- Shake mezcal and lime with ice, strain into the glass.
- Top with beer and stir gently.
To Serve
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Notes & Variations
- Add a dash of hot sauce if you want extra heat.
