Chelada (Pure & Crisp)

Chelada (Pure & Crisp)

From Oaxaca to your glass — a Don Catrin recipe.

Story

The chelada is the minimalist’s michelada — just lime, beer, and salt.

With worm salt, it becomes earthy and bright at once, a perfect warm-weather ritual.

Simple, sharp, and endlessly refreshing.

Yield: 1 cocktail   |   Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 oz light, crisp lager
  • 1.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • Worm salt (for rim)
  • Ice

Method

  1. Rim a chilled glass generously with worm salt.
  2. Fill with ice and add lime juice.
  3. Top with the coldest beer possible.

To Serve

Garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes & Variations

  • Use a pilsner for extra snap.

Ritual

Taste the rim before the first sip — it frames the lime and beer perfectly.
