Passion Fruit Mezcalita with Worm Salt
From Oaxaca to your glass — a Don Catrin recipe.
Story
Passion fruit is bright and electric, the kind of flavor that wakes a room.
Mezcal deepens it, and worm salt adds a savory anchor.
This mezcalita is vibrant, tropical, and unapologetically bold.
Yield: 1 cocktail | Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 oz mezcal
- 1 oz passion fruit puree
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz agave nectar
- Worm salt (for rim)
- Ice
Method
- Rim a rocks glass with worm salt and fill with ice.
- Shake mezcal, passion fruit, lime, and agave with ice.
- Strain over ice into the prepared glass.
To Serve
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Notes & Variations
- Add a splash of orange liqueur for a rounder finish.
Ritual
Taste the rim first. It tempers the fruit and makes the mezcal feel warmer.
