Guava Mezcal Smash with Worm Salt
From Oaxaca to your glass — a Don Catrin recipe.
Story
Guava brings a soft tropical sweetness that meets mezcal’s smoke with grace.
Worm salt adds a savory edge that keeps the fruit from drifting too sweet.
This smash is lush, grounded, and made for slow evenings.
Yield: 1 cocktail | Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 oz mezcal
- 1 oz guava puree
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz agave nectar
- Worm salt (for rim)
- Ice
Method
- Rim a rocks glass with worm salt and fill with ice.
- Shake mezcal, guava, lime, and agave with ice.
- Strain over ice into the prepared glass.
To Serve
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Notes & Variations
- Add a splash of soda water for a lighter finish.
Ritual
Take a sip, then a small taste of the rim — the salt pulls the guava into focus.
