Story

Blood orange is deeper than regular citrus — darker, richer, almost wine-like. Mezcal meets it with smoke and warmth.

Worm salt sharpens the fruit and turns each sip into a slow reveal.

This mezcalita feels like winter sun — bright but low.

Yield: 1 cocktail   |   Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal
  • 1 oz fresh blood orange juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz agave nectar
  • Worm salt (for rim)
  • Ice

Method

  1. Rim a rocks glass with worm salt and fill with ice.
  2. Shake mezcal, blood orange, lime, and agave with ice.
  3. Strain over ice into the prepared glass.

To Serve

Garnish with a blood orange slice.

Notes & Variations

  • Add a splash of orange liqueur for extra body.
