Story

Agua fresca is simple and generous. Mezcal turns it into something deeper, but it stays bright and light.

Worm salt adds a savory note that makes the lime feel sharper and the mint more vivid.

This is a drink for long lunches and warm breezes.

Yield: 1 cocktail   |   Time: 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz agave nectar
  • 6–8 mint leaves
  • 2 oz sparkling water
  • Worm salt (for rim)
  • Ice

Method

  1. Rim a tall glass with worm salt and fill with ice.
  2. Gently muddle mint with lime juice and agave in a shaker.
  3. Add mezcal, shake briefly, and strain into the glass. Top with sparkling water.

To Serve

Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel.

Notes & Variations

  • Add cucumber slices for extra freshness.
